So it's about time..

I start keeping up with this. It's now September and Caden is growing up fast before my eyes.
He is talking constantly and can hold a semi-long conversation. That's if you can keep him interested.

Well, let's see what has happened? He's all boy for sure.. Picking his nose and laughing when he farts. Can someone tell me if that's just in their DNA as boys? He's very possesive over everything that he thinks is his.. Even his Mommy, which I think is cute, for now. His new favorite place is Chuck E Cheese and that is also my LEAST favorite place.. I'm sorry but the place smells like pee! It's just gross.. but, I have resorted to bribing him with CEC! I know, I know.. who hasn't right. Well, I didn't think I would have to.. boy was I wrong!

We have also been on the potty training road for quite a while now... talk about a drag! Out of everything this has been the most trying thing to do. Somedays he's all for it then not so much others! He has learned that if he has to pee he can get out of any situation he doesn't want to be in at the time. Like nap time.. first nap time was interupted by "that (enter any random object) scared me" and now it's interupted by "I have to potty".

Well, I promise I will keep up with this more often! I just need to remind myself :P

Accident waiting to happen.....

That pretty much explains Caden for the past month to month and half. He has been non-stop, 90 to nothing with no fear, except of what he calls the"trash trash man". The sound of the truck scares him. Anyway, he will jump off of anything, he will stand on top of anything, he will run into anything... you name it!

So Saturday night we had some friends over for dinner. My friend Erika was mentioning to me that he's none stop. I told her I know.. that we hadn't had that "ER trip" yet. We both laughed and not 10 mins later I hear the screaming coming from his room! I pick him up without even checking him out first. By then Shaw, Erika's husband had walked in and said Oh NO! I then looked at his face and coming out between his eye was a lump the size of a grape and growing before my eyes! Looking at him scared the crap out of me. He didn't even look like my kid! He was screaming and screaming... which if you know Caden you would know that he was really hurt cause he never cries over getting hurt! He has some tough skin! I just had a bad feeling about it. I had to call my Aunt to ask what to do (yes, she's in the medical profession). She went ahead and told me what I would have done anyway, to take him in.

We headed to the new hospital in Rockwall thinking it's bound to be better then Lakepoint when it comes to kids. Well after 2 hours in the waiting room and some very odd looks from random people in the room, they finally called us back. By then it was almost midnight and we had been keeping Caden awake for the initial diagnosis. The dr could barely get a good look cause Caden is also afraid of DRs. Anyway, he ordered an x ray and said he is probably fine.. So I stopped fighting to keep him awake and let him fall asleep. Which was a life savor by the time they needed to do the x rays. There's no way he would have sat still enough. Finally about an hour later (1am by now) the dr walks in and says "I think he fractured his skull"! In my head I was screaming " YOU THINK HE FRACTURED HIS SKULL"!!! WTF!!!!!! I was sooo made because by now it was 4 hours at the ER after they had let 2 other guys through... who to me looked like they were fine! It was clear my 2 year old had a head injury!! Sorry for the rant.. that's me being a mother! Final diagnosis.. Nasal fracture! Let's just say I did not leave happy!

Anyway, today was the follow up with the pediatrician. The dr said he looks fine, other then the nasty black eyes he has and will have for a week probably. Theres nothing they can do about fractures and to just keep an eye on him. So I guess it has started! I knew it was a matter of time.. and I'm happy we had 2 years without a trip to the ER. But, I guess I better brace myself for things to come!

Check out some of the pics from this weekend and today. They didn't show up in order but the close ups of his face are from Sat night on the way to the ER. The one with just him sitting on the couch is from Sunday and the one's with me are from today before the DR visit.

Another month gone by!

Here I am another month later trying to update everyone! Sorry about that.. This has been one crazy month with all of the travel and all of the travel to come. But, a lot has happened as well.
First of all ... Caden went on his first real road trip. We went to CO to watch my Dad do his run. It was a very LONG trip and over all he did really well. He cried every now and then to get out of his car seat but that's to be expected.. right? :)
Secondly... Caden turned 2! Yep my little baby is more like a little boy now! He's growing up so fast. He's constantly saying new words and doing new things. He really does amaze me every day.

Just in case you don't know, here are the things that have come along with the age two:
1 whining (mommy constantly)
2 timid (he wont go into the fitness centers day care anymore)
3 More words (like names... such as Michael for Daddy and Heda for Mommy)
4 Only liking one type of food (pizzi aka Pizza)
5 Wanting to keep his pee and poo to himself (he wont sit on the potty anymore cause it's "his pee pee and his poo poo" - causing an interesting problem with potty training)
6 Telling Mommy to not talk ("Mommy no talk")
7 Hatred for Bugs ("Me Hate Bug" - don't ask me where he learned that word)
8 Wanting to watch a "specific" cartoon (wow wow wubzee, wubzee wubzee wow wow - very annoying cartoon)
9 Loss of hearing (well you know what I mean)

Just to explain a few for ya:

He had his 2 year appt a week ago.. And he's growing great!! Dr asked if he was talking.. Yep he is, I told the dr.. Only thing I can't figure out is how to keep him from calling my husband by his first name.. The Dr laughed, said that's cute and he should grow out of it. Meanwhile, Michael is getting irritated with it. So I have tried to start calling Michael "Daddy" in front of Caden to help solve this problem. So far, no such luck. I'll tell Caden.. go tell daddy bye bye ... Caden says, bye Michael! He sees Daddy's car and says, Michael Car! Daddy's at work... nope, Michaels at work. So we are working on that one!

The other day we were outside and there were a few bugs... I'm sitting next to him blowing "buddles" as he calls bubbles. And I hear him mummble something.. I said, what hon? He said, "me hate bugs" clear as day. WOW.... I don't like bugs but I dont think I have ever said I hate bugs. Not sure where that came from...?

OK so the story of his 2 year pics. Generally Caden is soo good when we go get pics taken. He's soo photogenic anyway :) but he really is most of the time good at it. So I go to JCP to get some taken cause I was impatient and I can tell as we are walking toward the studio that that day just wasn't a good day for pics. He wasn't listening (see #9) But, we also had issues with #1 and #2 that day. We get into JCP and there's when it went down hill and fast. They take him back and all he wants to do is play with this stupid car I let him bring in with him... Mistake #1 for me! Then they so aren't prepared either!! Wanting my crazy 2 year old to hold letters that spell out "I AM TWO"... Not happening.. Which is why I"m in the "TWO" pic with him. I'm pretty sure he ran out of the studio 4 times while we were taking pics. And let me tell you why!! It was because someone had a bright idea to make this room with windows and right out side to put a large display of TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, needless to say.. that was not a good day nor did we get great pics..!

So to today! It all started this morning... He woke up with a simi dry diaper... Which Holly had told me was a sign he was holding his pee at night! So I immidiately pick him up and say, we are going to sit on the potty.. He looks at me and says " no my pee pee, my diaper".. Refused to sit on the pot!! Seriously.. I'll have to read up on how to figure this one out!
Then later today I was taking Caden down to the pool and Stacey was in the car with me. We were just chatting away when from the back seat I hear "Mommy no talk"... I looked at Stacey and she looked at me and said... he just told you not to talk! WHAT??? Where did he learn that from?? I swear! He's 2 going on 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lately!

Hello Everyone!
I'm trying really hard to keep up with this as much as possible. So Caden will be 2 tomorrow! I can't believe it! My baby is growing up so fast. He has been talking constantly. It's funny the stuff that comes out of his mouth. Not to mention he's so bossy :)
So this past Saturday we had a family birthday party for Caden. It was a "Cars" theme because my child is obsessed with the moving Cars! He had so much fun and was so excited to see that everyone came to see him and they brought him toys! He's always bringing us his Cars books and always playing with cars or trucks! He's all boy that's for sure! I can't wait to see what this next year brings!

Pictures..

So, only God knows why, but I got a hair up my butt to take some pics of Caden! Imagine this, I took a black table clothe that I used to use for jewelry and attached it to the back of my couch in my game room.. So it kind of flowed downward.. very elegantly I might say. Anyway, I thought to myself, is this too much work then it's worth? Maybe, but now I want to do it even if I have a sucky camera! So after I get the couch all turned around to face the window so that the sunlight would act as a very professional lighting system for my pics.. I then decided to get Caden changed. Well, my little child didn't want to change clothes.. He really just wanted to play, but I'll be darned if all my hard work in setting up the perfect photo taking environment was going to be messed up cause my 22 month old wanted to play... Well I'll let the pics speak for them selfs on whether or not that worked out for me......

At the gym!

Well I go and workout 3 days a week on average... I say on average because most of the time it's more like 1-3 times since with a toddler you just never know what's gonna happen tomorrow. Well, when we go to the gym most of the time I put him in the daycare there or I'll leave him with family if they ask. Anyway, he loves the daycare at the gym. I'll put him in there and he doesn't think twice about going to find something to play with. It's like, see ya mom and he's gone! Makes me kind of sad because he never was an attached child and the older he gets the less and less he feels he needs me....
Anyway I digress... back to the story... the daycare providers don't usually say much to me when I drop him off or pick him up. They are kind of in a hurry to get back to the kids. Well, today when I picked him up they lady said she had to tell me something that Caden did. I knew right then this would be interesting.. She said that Caden came and got his jacket and said "go bye bye" and tried to get out! Ha! I started laughing, only because this is an issue I have been having with him all month long. He just doesn't want to be home.. or really anywhere for that matter. He just wants to go! I'll be sitting on the couch and all of the sudden I'll hear my back door beep and Caden is in the garage ready to go! Anyway, pretty cute I thought!

Easter

So Easter went very well this year! Last year he was too little to really understand exactly how an Easter egg hunt went.. But, this year he was off once he got the hang of it. It was really cute. So on Saturday we went to our towns little Easter egg bash they had going on.. We totally missed the egg hunt for his age. So we threw him in with the 5 year olds! He could stand his own ground! He went out there and grabbed those eggs like there was no tomorrow.

Then Sunday we gave him his little Easter basket and he went crazy with the Thomas the train the Easter bunny brought for him. After lunch we had a big hunt out front with our neighbors. We used both of our yards to do the hunt so the kids were going crazy! Poor Caden got off to a slow start but non the less he had a good time. And we had fun watching him!

Where are we going?

So yesterday we were on our way out the door and Caden was standing in the garage waiting for me to finish putting my things in the car. I guess he got tired of waiting on me and asked "where are we going"? I said, did you ask me where are we going? He said "yesh".. haha he cracks me up. One day it will be all baby gibbersih with maybe one or two words that I know then the next he pops out a sentence like that. I guess he's more like his father then I thought :)

Oh My Dosh!

A lot of yall probably have already heard this story... But this is a great one to start off with! The other day Caden was sitting on my lap and really examining his sippy cup. He started to notice that the paint on the cup was peeling off. He then looked up at me very seriously and said " mama, oh my dosh"!! Which is hilarious to me, mainly because I say "oh my gosh" all the time! The things that come out of his mouth...

My First Blog!

So I decided to "blog". I never would have seen myself as a blogger, but I guess the times have changed me. I mainly started this blog because of Caden. He's getting so big so fast and learning so much, taking so much and saying those crazy things! I thought this would be a good way to share everything that has been going on in "the life of Caden" with all of our friends and family that care so much for Caden. I hope you find this blog as interesting as I'm sure it will turn out to be!

Enjoy!
